【主讲人简介】

Dr. Lingfeng Wang is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), where he directs the Cyber-Physical Energy Systems Laboratory. He also serves as a Co-Director for the Department of Energy (DOE)’s Industrial Assessment Center at UWM. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Texas A&M University in 2008. Dr. Wang is an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, and IEEE Power Engineering Letters, and he serves on the Steering Committee for IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing. Dr. Wang served as a member of technical program committee for numerous international conferences, and a Guest-Editor-In-Chief for several international journals. He served as a Co-chair for IEEE Smart Grid Comm’15 Symposium on Data Management, Grid Analytics, and Dynamic Pricing. He has given seminar talks in more than 100 universities, industrial companies, and national laboratories as an invited speaker. Dr. Wang’s research interests include power system reliability and resiliency, smart grid cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, renewable energy integration, intelligent buildings, electric vehicles integration, networked microgrids, power electronics in power systems, energy-water nexus, and cyber-physical systems. More recently, his research is focused on the applications of game theory, robust optimization, and machine learning in some challenging power system problems. He is the author or co-author of more than 300 technical publications in these research fields.

【内容简介】

The current power grid is undergoing drastic changes and upgrades with the ongoing smart grid initiative. For example, more intermittent renewable energy resources are being integrated into the power grid; and various innovative smart grid technologies are being developed and deployed, including intelligent sensors, advanced metering infrastructure, novel power electronic devices, new operating strategies and big data analytics. Some of the emerging technologies are instrumental to enabling various desired functionalities of the envisioned smart grid, but they also significantly increase the complexity and uncertainty of the modern power system. As a result, research activities relating to power system reliability, cyber-physical security, and resiliency are faced with new challenges and opportunities. Meanwhile, the interdependency between the power system and other national critical infrastructures such as gas, water/wastewater, and transportation systems are becoming tighter than ever. Focusing on the risk assessment aspect, this talk will discuss the emerging new research topics of contemporary power systems by accounting for various emerging issues in the smart grid context.
